Internet radio is more popular than anyone thought : The Boy Genius Report

44% is an incredible degree of market penetration. That stretches credibility a little.
Never underestimate how much regular radio sucks.
Totally unlistenable except for non-commercial radio like WKCR in NYC and KCRW in LA.
Music on commercial radio is wedged in here and there between the ads.
This will leave the internet live airwaves open for talk , which is not necessarily a bad thing. Anyone with Skype and a copy of Icecast can have their own talk show.
As far as music goes, I’m sure Creative Commons will play a big role in the future. In order to succeed, musicians will opt-out of the whole copyright industry, and let their music flourish on the internet.
